Bruising is usually most visible the day after treatment, fading over 7–14 days (occasionally 4–6 weeks in a small number of clients).
Ideal timing: 6 weeks before a wedding, photoshoot, or big event.
Following the blood thinner and alcohol guidance below is the best way to reduce your bruising risk.
How to Prepare
Avoid dental work or cleanings for 2 weeks before your appointment.
Avoid vaccines or immunizations for 2 weeks before your appointment.
If medically appropriate, avoid non-essential medications and supplements that may increase bruising, such as ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), vitamin E, fish oil, ginkgo biloba and St. John’s Wort for approximately 1 week before treatment. Do not stop aspirin, anticoagulants or any other prescribed medication unless advised by your prescribing healthcare provider.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Stop retinol or retinoid products 3 days before to reduce the chance of irritation.
